About
PolterKryst is owned, designed, operated, marketed, packaged, and shipped by myself, Krystle Feher.
In 2016 I made my "human santapede" greeting cards to send to friends and family. After sharing it on my social media and receiving a LOT of feedback of people asking how to purchase one, I decided to open an Etsy shop in November of 2017. Having just moved to NYC, it was a great side quest for extra cash.
I ended up becoming too busy with my "day job" working as a makeup artist in the film and tv world and putting the shop on the back-burner. During this time I forgot to pay an Etsy fee (lol), and my shop was locked from 2018-2020.
Fast-forward to the great pandemic of 2020 when the entertainment industry I worked in was absolutely demolished and I had nothing but time and creative energy on my hands. Having taught myself digital drawing during the first half of the pandemic, I put that new found skill to use and started designing new cards. I re-opened my shop in November of 2020, and it has taken off since. This truly gave me not only a great outlet to focus my pandemic fear/anxiety into, but something that gave me a purpose to be excited to wake up for, as well as a bit of money - which was absolutely necessary during that time of my industry being 100% shut down for almost an entire year.
In 2022 with my industry now open again, I'm loving how much value is in my shop. Not only do I love the creative outlet it brings me, but it has also allowed me to have a stream of revenue that does not involve my being intimately face to face with hundreds of people per day. I am now working towards my goal of switching the script and making my design business full time and makeup as my secondary enjoyment.
Thanks for reading, and thanks so much for the support!! -K
